'Uniform Optional' Dress Code on
Wednesdays
Shorts and skirts for girls should not be shorter than mid-thigh.
The length should not be shorter than the fingertips of the student
when the arms are comfortably at their sides. Shirts and tops may
not display inappropriate language, inappropriate messages. This
includes outerwear as well. Jeans are permitted on Wednesdays only
provided that they are not oversized or faded and do not have
holes. Tops or pants that are 'see through' or display midriffs
(front or back) or shoulders (such as tube tops, spaghetti straps,
strapless apparel, etc.) are not permitted. Students are not
allowed to wear tattoos, permanent or temporary, that are
visible.
Outerwear
Light jackets, sweaters or pullovers must be solid Navy Blue. The
only acceptable logo is the RSPS logo.
Coats
Heavy coats such as down jackets may be any color but must meet
dress code parameters.
Shoes
Students must wear rubber-soled shoes and must remain tied at all
times. Shoes with open toes or open heels are not allowed. Shoes
should remain tied throughout the day. For safety reasons, students
wearing shoes that are deemed to be unsafe for certain activities
may have activity restricted or limited access to school
equipment.
Make-up and jewelry for girls
Make-up and jewelry should be minimal, worn in good taste, and
should not be distracting.
Hair
Student hair should be colored and styled in such a way as that it
appears natural. If you have any questions regarding the
distinction between natural and unnatural, please visit the campus
administrator before having the hair restyled. Hats may not be worn
by any student within the classroom. Boys' hair should not extend
over the top of the collar in the back, over the eyebrows in the
front, or over the midpoint of the ear on the sides.
Dress code for extracurricular
activities
For certain field trips, teachers may prescribe a certain type of
apparel to be worn or may allow the trip to be "uniform optional".
In all other instances, for all RSPS sponsored field trips,
students will be expected to wear their uniforms, even if the trip
falls on a Wednesday. Students who participate in RSPS-sponsored
extra-curricular activities which occur outside of school hours
(such as school dances and events) will be expected to maintain a
standard of dress which is consistent in principle, with the stated
"uniform optional" policy. For each RSPS-sponsored dance, the RSPS
student council will issue the standards for appropriate dress.
Prep School Dress Code

our students for life in a professional setting. The School expects
students to dress sensibly, neatly, tastefully and appropriately by
wearing clean attire in good repair at all times. Our dress code
fosters respect for the academic environment.
