Academic Overview

Rancho Solano's Elementary curriculum is broadbased and challenging. The core curriculum includes phonics based reading, language arts, handwriting, math, social studies, science, foreign language and computer instruction. Students work above grade level in most academic subject areas, with enrichment activities and projects to extend the learning experience.

Success in school begins with good organizational and study skills. Students are provided with academic planners, and are instructed in how to organize and manage their study time.Various activities and lessons develop reference skills, organizational skills, note taking and outlining.Students are encouraged to work independently as well as in groups.

A sense of community and a respect for self and others is promoted at all grade levels. Students achieve a level of independence, gain a sense of responsibility and strengthen their use of self-discipline.
