Visual Arts

Early Learning and Lower School

Visual Arts in the lower elementary stimulate creativity and encourage students to establish connections between art and other disciplines, such as history and world cultures.

Students also investigate the relationship between colors, shapes and lines through hands-on, age-appropriate activities. Our instructors use a variety of materials and techniques to expose students to the many possibilities that exist within visual arts.

In search of discovering great art, Rancho Solano Lower School students:

  • Gain exposure to different art mediums including watercolors, charcoal, and oil pastels
  • Are given opportunities to create art in their own unique style
  • Learn about famous art and artists throughout history

Middle School

Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 have the opportunity to learn art basics through exploration of multicultural connections and major trends in the history of art. This approach includes exploration of aesthetics, art criticism, art history and production in 2D painting and drawing, 3D sculpture and ceramics, and applied design.

Upper School
