Upper School

Upper School Admissions Process

Our college preparatory curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and is brought to life in a student-centered environment. Students engage with other students from around the world via this challenging and inquiry-based curriculum that prepares them for this ever-changing world.

Steps Toward Admission: Grades 9th through 12th

The following instructions will help guide you through your child’s application process.  The staff of the Admissions Office is available to answer any questions you may have to help you through this process.

  1.  Submit a Request For Information to schedule a visit of our campus, or schedule a telephone conversation with our admissions office. This ensures your request will be handled as quickly as possible.
  2. Visit the Rancho Solano Upper School Campus
  3. Submit an Online Application
    • When filling out the application you will need to complete and submit/upload the following:
      • Copy of birth certificate (required)
      • Current and past year grade report or transcript
      • Current standardized test scores
      • Writing sample
  4. Submit required academic forms
    • If your child is currently receiving schooling, you will also be required to download and submit the following forms to your child’s current school for completion:
      • Completed/signed Parent Authorization for Release of Records Form
      • 9th-12th - Math, English and Head of School/Principal Recommendation Forms
  5. Admissions Testing
    • Rancho Solano accepts the ISEE standardized admissions tests for Middle and Upper school.  Our Admissions Department can help families schedule the ISEE.
    • Click here for helpful information on preparing for and understanding the ISEE Test: Preparing for a Test
  6. Participate in a Shadow Day
    • In addition to getting to know the student during the interview and application process, we recommend that students participate in a Shadow Day.  This gives students an opportunity to experience what a typical day is like at the Rancho Solano Preparatory School campus they are applying to.

After those steps have been taken, our admissions team will evaluate each candidate based on the application, the candidate’s school record, teacher recommendations, interviews and academic testing.

We wish you every success in the admissions process!
