All-State Orchestra Students Selected

December 15, 2017

The Arizona Music Educators Association recently announced the Elementary School (ES) and Junior High (JH) All-State Orchestra performers for 2018. The ES All-State Orchestra is comprised of 5th and 6th grade students, while the JH All-State Orchestra is made up of 7th and 8th grade students; all student performers play either the violin, viola, cello, or string bass. School orchestra directors may nominate up to seven students for the ES All-State Orchestra Festival and up to six students for the JH All-State Orchestra Festival. Nominated students represent the highest-skilled musicians - the "best of the best" from each participating school.

Rancho Solano is proud to announce that nine students have been chosen to participate in this year’s All-State Orchestra Festival. The ES All-State Orchestra festival students include: Katya Alofs – violin; Talia Cho – violin; Vera Zuch – viola; Avery Shafron – cello; and Kamryn Barako – string bass. The JH All-State Orchestra festival students include: Bella Agarwal – violin; Layla Alawali – violin; Juan Carlos Urbina – violin; and Ridge Hall – cello.

The ES and JH All-State Orchestra Festivals will take place at Perry High School in the Chandler Unified School District on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Students will rehearse the entire day, culminating in a gala concert that will begin at 4:00pm featuring the ES All-State Orchestra (80 students) followed by the JH All-State Orchestra (100 students). The concert is open to the public, tickets are $5.00, cash only.

Congratulations to these fine musicians!
