Mustang Athletes Recognized

May 12, 2016

The Athletic Department had the honor of recognizing the athletic achievements of all Mustang student-athletes this week at the Middle School and High School Athletics Banquets. In Middle School, each of the teams awarded a Most Outstanding Player Award to the best athlete/competitor on the team, and a Blue and Gold Award, which is given to the athlete exhibiting the highest overall effort level, competitiveness, and team leadership. The coaches also present the Student-Athlete of the Year award to the athlete in each grade with the highest GPA that participated in three seasons of sports. Other special awards presented are the Golden Horseshoe Award, presented to the most improved athlete throughout the school year; and the Sportsmanship Award, presented to the athletes that demonstrated the best attitude and sportsmanship in their sports. 2015-16 MS Athletic Awards

In High School, the athletics awards were highlighted by each team presenting a Most Outstanding Player Award, Blue and Gold Award to the athlete exhibiting the greatest overall effort, competitiveness, and team leadership; and Coaches Award to the most coachable, selfless and improved player on the team. The first ever Mustang Spirit Award was given to senior, Emery Hall, for her four years of service as our lovable mascot, Blaze the Mustang. The banquet also featured the unveiling of the banners honoring our Section Champion Volleyball team and our State Champion Tennis player, Neha Alety. 2015-16 HS Athletic Awards

There were countless individual and team achievements worthy of recognition this year and it was a pleasure to take time to acknowledge all of the hard work and commitment from our athletes. Congratulations, Mustangs, on an outstanding year!
