RSPS Senior Commits to Play for NCAA Division I Team

November 13, 2017

Rancho Solano Prep Senior, Nikc Jackson, recently became the first RSPS student-athlete to commit to play collegiately at an NCAA Division I institution. Following in his father’s footsteps, Nikc has committed to attend the US Air Force Academy and play basketball for the Falcons. “It feels awesome to finally say I’ve committed to get a college education and continue to play basketball at the college level,” Jackson told AZ Central. The definition of a true “Student-Athlete” Nikc’s plans to pursue a career in medicine as a surgeon and the opportunities in the academy led him to choose the Air Force. “I love all of the opportunities being an Air Force Academy cadet gives you. They really set you up for life at the academy, on and off the court,” Jackson said. Jackson is sure to be an integral member of the varsity boys basketball team this season, joining a group that returns its top 6 scorers from last year’s state quarterfinal team. The Mustangs’ first game is Nov. 20 vs. Trevor Browne High School in the Sunnyslope Hoopsgiving Tournament.
