Every day at Rancho Solano Preparatory School is full of engaging learning experiences and discoveries. While schedules differ across grade levels, here’s a look at what happens in our Lower School.
7:30am – 8am Students arrive, settle in, and dive into inviting activities that spark curiosity right from the start.
8am – 8:30am Children go outside to run, climb, and play, becoming stronger and enjoying time together in the fresh air.
8:30am – 8:45am Children gather on the carpet to greet each other, sing songs, share the calendar, and talk about the day ahead.
8:45am – 9:45am In small groups, children explore hands-on centers with their teacher, building early language, math and thinking skills through play.
10am – 10:30am Children discover new interests with age-appropriate specials that invite them to create, move, experiment, and explore new sounds and words.
10:30 am – 11am Children return outside for more free play, taking turns, sharing, and developing gross motor skills.
11am – 11:30am Children listen to engaging stories, act them out, ask questions, and enjoy simple whole-group games and activities.
11:30am – 12pm Children eat together and practice independence as they open containers and clean up, and enjoy a relaxed midday break.
12pm – 12:30pm Teachers offer gentle, age-appropriate activities or guided free play based on each group’s energy and interests.
12:30pm – 1:50pm Children rest their bodies with naps or quiet choices like books and soft activities in a peaceful environment.
1:50pm – 2:10pm Children have a second school-provided snack and slowly get ready for the end of the day.
2:10pm – 2:30pm Children gather their belongings, say goodbye to teachers and friends and share their day as they head home.

At Rancho Solano Preparatory School Lower School, students begin learning Spanish from Pre-K3 through Grade 5.
