Clubs, sports, and opportunities

At Rancho Solano Preparatory School, students thrive through a rich and diverse Athletics and co-curricular program. From competitive sports like basketball, volleyball, soccer, and swimming, to creative clubs, performing arts, and academic societies, they explore passions, build confidence, teamwork, and leadership, and develop skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Through service projects, global trips, and specialized programs, students also cultivate empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of community. Together, these experiences prepare Rancho Solano students to become well-rounded scholar-athletes and engaged citizens, ready to achieve their full potential.

After-school care

After-school care

Students at Rancho Solano Preparatory School extend their day through after-school care and enrichment programs. They explore clubs, arts, athletics, and STEM activities in a safe, supervised environment from dismissal until 5.30pm.

With flexible schedules, students pick up immediately after their chosen activity, avoiding extra fees while developing talents, building friendships, and thriving beyond the classroom.

Making a difference

At our private school in Scottsdale, students embrace philanthropy through service projects, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities. Guided by our core values and the IB learner profile, they develop empathy, intercultural understanding, and a commitment to making a positive impact locally and globally.

High School

At Rancho Solano, High School students are encouraged to participate in community service, which helps them develop compassion, self-awareness, self-esteem, professional skills, and academic growth. The 11th-grade service trip offers hands-on experiences including working on an ecological farm, assisting at an orphanage, and supporting local schools, followed by reflective journaling on tasks, lessons learned, and community impact. Many school clubs also focus on service - Angel Club supports Phoenix Children’s Hospital through drives and fundraising, the National Honor Society hosts blood drives for local hospitals, and each fall, club leaders collaborate on student-led service initiatives, demonstrating the students’ collective commitment to making a positive impact.

High School

Middle School

Middle School students engage in meaningful community service through clubs, grade-level projects, and field trips. The school partners with several local and global organizations, providing students with opportunities to make a real impact -

  • Feed My Starving Children students volunteer on field trips to pack nutritious meals for children in need
  • Team Seas - students organize fundraisers to support this ocean cleanup initiative
  • Legacy Living Center - students spend quality time with senior residents, and our choir performs for them during the holiday season
  • The Society of St. Vincent de Paul - students lead and promote canned food drives to support those in need
  • Support Our Soldiers - students create blankets and organize supply drives for military personnel
Middle School

Lower School

At Rancho Solano, we emphasize character education, teaching our students to become responsible, engaged citizens of the world. Our curriculum integrates the Rancho Five – Respectful, Responsible, Polite, Considerate, Successful – and extends learning beyond the classroom through meaningful real-world experiences. Community service is a key part of this approach, with our Diversity & Inclusion Group and Student Government (STUGO) actively organizing and participating in fundraising and awareness initiatives.

Rancho Solano partners with and supports the following organizations:

  • Home Fur Good - students design and lead fun, engaging fundraising campaigns to support this organization.
  • PV Community Food Bank - students organize and promote food drives to help address community needs.

Rehema Project

Rehema Children’s Home in Kenya provides a safe haven for children who have been orphaned, neglected, escaping early marriage, or subjected to physical abuse. Since 2019, Rancho Solano Preparatory School has proudly partnered with and supported Rehema Children’s Home.

In collaboration with the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, our community has generously contributed to several initiatives. In 2020, donations funded the construction of a dormitory, greatly improving living conditions. Contributions in 2021 supported education programs and income-generating projects.

During 2022 and 2023, due to COVID-19, our focus shifted to supporting health and education initiatives. In 2024, efforts returned to completing income-generating projects, helping Rehema move closer to its long-term goal of becoming self-sustaining.

Looking ahead to 2025, we aim to continue funding essential health, education, and staffing initiatives. If funding allows, we plan to launch an on-site trade skills training program, providing children with practical skills in agriculture, dressmaking, carpentry, and more. Your donations help provide a safe home, healthcare, and education for these children.
